If the priority is the comfort and enjoyment of driving, opt for a scooter with a large, low platform, large wheels and, possibly, with suspension. If performance and speed are important, choose a scooter with large wheels, low platform, light overall weight and high-quality bearings, preferably without suspension. These scooters are ideal for traveling shorter distances, have a reasonable range and a quality of construction suitable for everyday trips to work. Expect occasional repairs during the few years of expected lifespan.
Budget scooters are best when the trip has relatively smooth surfaces and there aren't many steep hills. They're light enough that you can fold them up and climb the stairs from time to time.
